Uxbridge Baptist Church - Privacy Policy

Uxbridge Baptist Church presents this privacy policy to show our commitment to the privacy concerns of users of the UBC web site.  Included in this policy statement is a statement about information gathering and dissemination practices. Except for the purposes set forth herein, Uxbridge Baptist Church will never sell or transfer your personal information to any organization or person for any reason.

Personal and Non-Personal Information

When using our Web site ("uxbridgebaptist.com"), you may be asked to provide certain personal information about yourself for the purposes of gaining access to restricted areas, signing up for events, responding to a survey, etc. In general, Uxbridge Baptist Church will only use this information to comply with the purpose for which such information was requested. If data is collected and/or maintained by anyone other than Uxbridge Baptist Church, we will tell you at the point of collection. If you do not want to share your information, you can choose not to use that service.

Uxbridge Baptist Church may, from time to time, use this information to send you information about new and exciting events happening at Uxbridge Baptist Church. Uxbridge Baptist Church will not share with or rent, sell or lease your personal information to any person or entity.

We may also request and collect non-personally identifiable information about you, such as gender, age, or hobbies. We may use this data to improve our site and to send you information that may be of interest to you. We may use this data to enhance your experience at our site, showing you content that we think you might be interested in, based on your preferences.

Cookies

In addition to the personally identifiable information that Uxbridge Baptist Church collects, we also collect information "anonymously" using "cookies." Presently, "cookies" play an important role in making the Internet work, but there is much confusion among Internet users about what cookies are and how they are used. A cookie is a small text file containing a unique identification number that is transferred from a web site to the hard drive of your computer so that the web site may identify you and track your activities and customize your experience on the web site. This unique number identifies your browser-- but not you -- to Uxbridge Baptist Church computers whenever you visit one of the sites in the Uxbridge Baptist Church. A cookie will not let a web site know any personally identifiable information about you, such as your real name and address. Uxbridge Baptist Church does not collect personally identifiable information about any one person using cookies. We may also use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests, save your password (if you have registered with us) so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our site, and for other purposes. Since cookies are only text files, they cannot run on your computer, search your computer for other information or transmit any information to anyone.

The use of cookies is now an industry standard and you will find them used on most major web sites. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can reset your browser either to notify you when you have received a cookie, or to refuse to accept cookies. You should understand that while Uxbridge Baptist Church does not require you to use cookies, however certain sites will not function properly if you set your browser to not accept cookies.

Internet Protocol (IP) Address

We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site. Your IP address is used to help identify you for the duration of a session and to gather broad demographic information.

Clickstream

As you browse the Internet, a trail of electronic information is left at each Web site you visit. This information, which is sometimes called "clickstream" data, can be collected and stored by a Web site's server. Clickstream data can tell us the type of computer and browsing software you use, the address of the web site from which you linked to the Uxbridgebaptist.com web site, and in some instances, your e-mail address. We may use clickstream data to determine how much time visitors spend on each page of our site and how they navigate throughout the uxbridgebaptist.com site. We will only use this information to improve the uxbridgebaptist.com Web site. Any collection or use of clickstream data will be anonymous and aggregate, and will not contain any personal information.

Consent to Processing

By providing any personal information to this site, users fully understand and unambiguously consent to the collection and processing of such information in Canada and the United States.

Security Procedures, Loss, Misuse or Alteration of Information

Uxbridge Baptist Church has security measures in place to attempt to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your user data under our control. Only authorized employees have access to the information you provide us with. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration to data will not occur; we make every effort to prevent such unfortunate occurrences. Any other particularly sensitive information, such as your credit card number collected for a commerce transaction at uxbridgebaptist.com is encrypted prior to transmission.

You are ultimately responsible for the security of your uxbridgebaptist.com ID and password. Please take care when using and storing them. Uxbridge Baptist Church recommends that you do not divulge your password to anyone. You should log out of your browser at the end of each computer session to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence, especially if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet cafe.

Our site contains links to other sites. Other sites may also reference or link to our site. Uxbridge Baptist Church is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such other sites.
